Position Objective: |
To prepare QC (Quality Check) sheets and guides for deployment, migrations and upgrades at DCS Site Management controlled data centers and server rooms. Deployment projects include, but are not exclusive to, servers, storage equipment, network and power.
To plan and document shift management at 24x7 and 8x5 data centers. Items to be documented include personnel rotation (work load, vacation, emergency escalation), security procedures and site rules and responsibilities). To write a Data Center Site management staff handbook.
To work out and document, processes and work flows for the installation, decommission and estimation with different teams like Project Office (Project Management ), Network and SA (Systems Administrators) ; and vendors in Japan and in the US.
To work with different teams to gather information, and then document the current Data Center and Server Rooms infrastructure, NW and server installations. For example, how network patching works and the current capacity on NW PODs (network areas).
To help with server and equipment audit of the Tennozu, Osaka, Tsurumi , Akasaka, Equinix DCs and DCS administrated Server Rooms. To help build and maintain a server list of the equipment on these DCs and Servers Rooms based on the audit findings.
To help with the implementation of the Aperture and other DC Management tools.
To help with the planning and documentation of Data Center metrics (for example, deployments, current usage and capacity).
Must be willing to be on call 24x7, work night shifts, and provide support for emergencies. |
